Vyacheslav Vorobyov

Slava (Vyacheslav) Vorobyov is an Épée coach registered with USA Fencing.

He is a former member of the Ukrainian National Fencing Team and holds a distinguished title of Master of Sport in Fencing.


He pursued his education at the Mykolaiv Specialized School of Physical Education and later graduated from the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine in Kyiv with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and fencing coaching. In addition, he earned a second degree in Business Management.

During his athletic career, Mr. Vorobyov represented Ukraine at both national and international competitions, earning podium finishes at the Ukrainian National Championships. In Kyiv, he co-founded a fencing club that rose to become one of the top three programs in the country, producing medalists at national and international levels in both individual and team events.

His contributions to the sport extend beyond coaching. As a co-founder of the All-Ukrainian Amateur Fencing League, he played a central role in organizing tournaments of both national and international scope, significantly contributing to the growth and visibility of fencing in Ukraine.

For the past four years, coach Slava has been a valued member of the coaching staff at the New York Fencing Academy (NYFA). He trained athletes of all ages and abilities, from beginners as young as five years old to advanced competitive fencers.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes professional expertise, long-term athlete development, and a deep passion for the sport, enabling his students to achieve success at regional and national competitions.
